Audrius Kabašinskas is an associate professor at KTU Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, the head of the KTU Applied Mathematics master’s study program and a member of the mathematics study program committee. In 2020 the scientist represented Lithuania in the “European Consortium for Mathematics in Industry”; he is a member of the council of this organization. A. Kabašinskas pays most attention to operations research, decision-making analysis and optimization. Areas of application of research – detection of VAT discrepancies, pension system models, raw materials market research, risk assessment of cryptocurrencies and arbitrage.

FINancial Supervision and TECHnological Compliance training programme – FIN-TECH 

Big data and artificial intelligence are applied to create models to identify credit, investment and fraud risks. In this way, the aim is to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of the Fintech sector and the development of the common ecosystem in EU countries. The applicability of these models is demonstrated to market regulatory and supervisory authorities, Fintech associations and centers during periodic trainings.

Pension fund regulation during times of uncertainty in the context of sustainable investments (PenReg)

Researchers develop a regulatory model for pension funds to make sustainable investment decisions in an uncertain environment, taking into account the fund’s risk profile. One of the most important components of this model is the formation of future scenarios, under which optimal investment decisions would be made with respect to several criteria (return maximization, risk minimization), their rebalancing is expected and stress tests are proposed.

Micro-foundations of Family Business: Dynamic Managerial Capabilities and Innovation Performance (FamBusDMC)

2017-2020 A. Kabašinskas contributed to the implementation of the project. The overall research question of the research project was how dynamic managerial capabilities of family business effect its innovation performance. Projects funded by the Research Council of Lithuania (RCL), Projects carried out by researchers’ teams. The results of the research will help to animate innovation performance of the family businesses through developing dynamic managerial capabilities, especially social capital, of the family manager.

 

Establishment of the Analysis, Modeling and Risk Management Competence Centre (I.MAMC)

The main problem addressed during the EU Structural Funds project was the existing large fragmentation of tax administration institutions in the field of analysis and risk management. The project aimed to improve tax collection, implement a smart tax administration system, strengthening the analytical capabilities of the State Tax Inspectorate. During the project, an analytics competence center was created, using human and IT resources and the process of analysis, modeling and risk management of tax administration.
