Rimantas Barauskas is a professor at the KTU Faculty of Informatics, a habilitated doctor of technological sciences. The professor was awarded the Lithuanian national science prizes: 1996 for the series of works “Vibro-impact systems: research, optimization, application” (co-author – V. Ostaševičius), and in 2009 – for the textbook “Fundamentals of the Finite Element Method” and the cycle of works “The Finite Element Method: calculation methods and applications” (co-authors – R. Belevičius, R. Kačianauskas).
R. Barauskas has written about 250 articles, 6 monographs, 7 textbooks, supervised several doctoral students who defended their doctoral theses.
